Since a few weeks some right-winged factions are organising demonstrations against "the rise of Islam" in Germany. And all other things, it is popular to be against nowadays. To call the followers of that demonstrations (misbegotten on mondays - the so called Montags-Demos had ended the GDR and the dividing of Germany in 1989) just not so well-educated and blinded by some harmless rabble-rousers is inadequately.
Yesterday in a talk-show some survivors of the KZ Auschwitz had time and place to tell their memories (www.spiegel.de/kultur/tv/ausch…
), other survivors were interviewed for different newspapers and magazines - only entertainment for the more sophisticated people in Germany?
I'm afraid, a lot of people are fed up with the ashaming/shocking/horrible/unbelievable terrifying history we have in Germany. They don't want to hear about things happening in a time, when their grandparents were small children or not even born - and be blamed for that til today. That's where the "harmless rabble-rousers" find their way in: blame some others for the horrors some errant people do in the name of their religion. Mulime groups in Germany and all over the world dissociate theirself from IS, but for "PEGIDA" and associates (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrioti…
) are doing, what happend in Germany last time under the Nazis: discriminate people for their religion.
Is this the time, when new Nazis are coming up? 70 years after the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau?
Sometimes I'm truly ashamed of being born and raised in Germany.
